This url is a “blog” style website presented by the OMIA Foundation.
A blog is: “a web site, usually maintained by an individual with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video. Entries are commonly displayed in reverse-chronological order. “Blog” can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog.”
Because web commentary includes materials already existing on the web, it goes without saying that the descriptions on this site are original but the events are not.
The Thinker
Most of the photos on our web site are links to their original locations with full credit given to the original producer. We are not making any claim to being the original authors or photographers of material on this web site, should it be intellectual property of another.
If you are the owner of any material listed or referred to on our site and you would prefer we break the links to your site, we would be happy to do so.
Please think of our site as a portal to outside information. The vision statement of the OMIA Foundation is to provide outside movement inside academics. We would not be able to do so without connecting to the outside world. And, we choose to do so by linking to and referencing material that didn’t necessarily develop within the minds of the staff of the OMIA Foundation.
